We pride ourselves on utilizing the latest and greatest materials and construction. Each boat’s carbon, basalt, or fiberglass hand layup is vacuum infused in one single step with epoxy resin and post-cured at the ideal temperature. Our methods allow us to build boats that are a fraction of the weight of competitors’ boats made of fiberglass and poly/vinylester resins. Our various proprietary layups are mathematically optimized using advanced composites engineering techniques for stiffness, impact resistance, and low weight.

At Flood Tide, nobody touches your boat who doesn’t have a passion for what they are doing. As avid shallow water fishermen and owners of skiffs ourselves, we won’t let your boat out of the factory door until we would be proud to own it ourselves.
As a small company, we strive to offer the very best one on one customer service experience in the industry whether you are having a boat built or hiring us for a small repair job. When you call us you won’t get an automated menu on the other end of the line. Instead you’ll get Sam: the company’s owner, hull designer, composites engineer, main boat builder and avid shallow water fisherman.

Our Story
The owner of Flood Tide Boatworks, Sam, has been an avid fisherman since 10 years old. When he turned 16 and could drive, fishing for bass turned into driving to the mosquito lagoon as often as possible to wade and kayak fish for reds and trout. Sam got his mechanical engineering degree from UF specializing in composite materials with the intention of going into the aerospace industry, but fell in love with boat building when he built his first skiff. Sam founded Flood Tide Boatworks with the goal of combining his technical knowledge of composites with his passion for boats and fishing to create the highest performance shallow water skiffs at reasonable prices.
